Privacy Policy
Last updated July 2026. How we collect, use, and protect your information.
1. Information We Collect
When you create an account we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from your sign-in provider (Google). When you enroll, our payment provider processes your payment details — we never store card numbers. We also collect course activity such as enrollment status, session attendance, and capstone submissions.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to operate your account, deliver programs (including live session access and grading), send transactional emails about your cohort, improve our courses, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
3. Live Sessions & Recordings
Live sessions may be recorded for enrolled students to review. Your name and video may appear in recordings if your camera is on. Recordings are shared only within your cohort and are deleted no later than 12 months after the cohort ends.
4. Sharing
We share data only with service providers who help us run the platform — authentication and database hosting (Supabase), payments (Polar), and video conferencing — each bound by their own privacy commitments. Your instructor can see your enrollment, attendance, and submitted work for grading.
5. Data Retention
Account data is kept while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove personal data within 30 days, except records we must keep for tax, accounting, or legal purposes and certificates you have earned.
6. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing privacy@abryne.university. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may also have rights to data portability and to object to certain processing.
7. Cookies
We use only essential cookies: authentication cookies that keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
8. Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to production data is restricted to personnel who need it to operate the service. No system is perfectly secure, so we encourage you to use a strong, unique sign-in method.
9. Children
Our programs are intended for adults and learners aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16; if you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
10. Changes & Contact
We will notify you by email of material changes to this policy before they take effect. Questions can be sent to privacy@abryne.university.
